The Black Cats lose to Arsenal

Sunderland’s 1st team have lost to the Gunners. It was Martin O’Neill’s 50th Premier League game as the boss of Sunderland but that didn’t help them.

The fixture played today ended in defeat for the Black Cats.

The first half was dominated by Arsenal and it was surprising when Santi Cazorla scored in the 36th minute.

The second half saw Sunderland come together more as a team, when Arsenal’s defender Carl Jenkinson, playing for an injured Laurent Koscielny, was sent off for his second bookable offence. However even playing against a 10-man team didn’t help Sunderland.

On the bright side it could have been an even more disappointing game if it hadn’t been Sunderland goal keep Mignolet had not been able to keep Walcott’s and Ramsey’s goal attempts out of the net.

Sunderland looked good during the second half now they just need to put it together in the first for their next game.
